Amazon.com has several flower arranging books.  You or a friend could likely do this yourself easier than other do it yourself wedding projects.

WEDDING FOOD TO CATER YOUR WEDDING

Cater your own wedding for as little as $5 a person with professional hors doerves

    • appetizerstogo.com These guys are amazing. These are the same hors doerves served in 5 star chain hotels. They come frozen with no prep - you heat for 15 minutes and they are ready. Visit the site for further coupons & deals they offer such as free shipping and discount coupons.

    • As you have probably heard from caterers by now, hors-doerves are very labor intensive and super expensive. So many caterers buy some of the "traditional" fare at food wholesalers like this place.  Then they are just re-heated for about 15 minutes and served by the caterer and they charge you a markup.

    • appetizerstogo.com sells the same hors-doerves that you see in fancy catered weddings - the caterers and "WHITE TABLECLOTH" (READ EXPENSIVE) restaurants & hotels frequently buy from these guys and now they are selling to the general public.  (if you read the reviews you might recognize some restaurant and hotel names to get an idea of the quality) I was at an expensive country club wedding last year and recognized them using this exact company - I am super food fussy - especially when food is done in quantity, and I thought they were very, very good.

    • They have all the standards, low-carb, specialty items, Kosher, DimSum, vegetable, black tie, and a sample box to try a "trial run". They have a calculator that you enter the number of guests and it will tell you how much you need.

    • They have crab cakes, stuffed mushrooms, lobster puffs, scallops in bacon, beef wellington, chicken satay, and the popular chicken tender, pig in blanket, buffalo wing, quiches, and some not so standard surf and turf kabobs, apple cranberry bouche, lobster risotto croquette, smoked salmon mousse pinwheels, etc. There is a new Platinum designer collection that is really great.

    • ANOTHER CATERING IDEA:  Stop by your local Costco and see how much prepared food you can get with a FREE $500 Costco gift certificate. My Costco has prepared meals, shrimp cocktail platters, salads, rolls, desserts, wine, soft beverages, frozen hors doerves.
